The performance of PET
(1) the general performance PET resin is milk white translucent?or?colorless transparent body, the relative density is 1.38, and the transmittance rate is 90%. PET is a medium barrier material, and the transmission coefficient of O2 is 50 to 90cm3 mm/ (m2. D MPa). The transmission coefficient of CO2 is 180cm3 mm/ (M2 d). The water absorption of PET is 0.6%, and the water absorbability is larger.
(2) the tensile strength of PET film with mechanical properties is very high, comparable to aluminum foil, 9 times of that of HDPE film, and 3 times that of PC and PA films. Enhanced PET has small creep resistance, excellent fatigue resistance (better than enhanced PC and PA), good wear resistance and good friction resistance. The mechanical properties of PET are less affected by temperature.
(3) the thermal properties of pure PET plastics are not very high, but they are greatly improved after enhanced treatment. The mechanical properties at 180 C are better than those of PF laminates, which is a good heat resistant variety of reinforced thermoplastic engineering plastics. The heat resistance of PET is good, the embrittlement temperature is - 70 C, and still has a certain toughness at - 30. PET is not easy to burn, the flame is yellow, and it drops.
(4) although electrical performance PET is a polar polymer, it has excellent electrical insulation and can still be kept well at high frequency. PET has poor corona resistance and can not be used for high voltage insulation; the electrical insulation is affected by temperature and humidity, and is greatly influenced by humidity.
(5) environmental performance PET contains ester bonds, which can not withstand water, acid, and alkali under the condition of high temperature and water vapor. PET is stable for organic solvents such as acetone, benzene, toluene, three chloroethane, carbon tetrachloride and oil. It also has high resistance to some oxidants, such as hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite and potassium dichromate. PET has good weatherability and can be used for a long time.
